What Is CBD, Exactly?

CBD itself is an active ingredient that is commonly found in cannabis. In fact, it’s the second most prevalent ingredient, and it’s derived directly from the hemp plant, which is related to the marijuana plant. Although CBD is a component of cannabis, it differs from THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the psychoactive cannabinoid that delivers the “high” sensation associated with cannabis.

The difference with CBD is that it has some potential health benefits, such as alleviating pain, reducing anxiety or depression, and could even alleviate cancer-related symptoms.

What is CBD Isolate?

CBD itself can come in many forms, including as an isolate or in various types of CBD isolate products. CBD isolate contains 99% pure CBD and does not contain any THC. All of the plant matter, such as oils, waxes, and chlorophyll, is removed when extracting the isolate, meaning that CBD isolate is as pure as it gets.

What Can CBD Isolate Be Used for?

CBD in its isolated form is the purest form of Cannabidiol (CBD), which has been reported by users and revealed by scientific research to deliver a variety of therapeutic effects.

Reduce Inflammation and Alleviate Pain

Scientists have been examining the effects of CBD and how it could potentially be used to deal with pain. Initial studies have shown that CBD could help to reduce the effects of chronic pain, and it’s already being used in some products. For example, there are oral sprays developed to treat pain in patients with multiple sclerosis. These products actually contain both CBD and THC, the psychoactive component found in cannabis.

Manage and Alleviate Depression and Other Mental Disorders

As common mental health disorders, both anxiety and depression are well-documented, and their effects are observed all over the world. While they’re traditionally dealt with using pharmaceutical drugs, the medication used can be addictive and could lead to substance abuse. This has led to more people searching for alternatives such as CBD. In animal studies, CBD has shown antidepressant-like effects, which could point to it as an alternative form of medication to deal with anxiety and depression.

Promote Cardiovascular Health

CBD is said to have many benefits that could help improve one’s heart health. This is because recent research has linked CBD with positives for the heart and circulatory system, such as the ability to lower high blood pressure. A study has shown that a single dose of cannabidiol could reduce blood pressure in healthy people.

Manage Addiction and Substance Abuse

Studies have shown that CBD could be used as an intervention for addictive behaviors. A study on rats showed that CBD could reduce morphine dependence and even heroin-seeking behavior. Although more research needs to be carried out, CBD has shown some very promising benefits that cannot be ignored.

How Do You Use CBD Isolate?

Another common question that we get is: “How do I actually use CBD isolate?” Since it comes in a convenient powder form, there are many applications for it, so let’s look at a couple of examples now.

What is the Best CBD Isolate Dosage

In 2011, a review was published regarding the safety and side effects of CBD and found that doses up to 1,500 mg/day are tolerated well by humans. However, we would recommend that you consult a healthcare professional before you start taking regular high doses to ensure that your body is able to withstand it.

How to Use Raw CBD Isolate

One of the easiest ways to take CBD is to place the powder directly under your tongue. Hold it for roughly a minute, and it will be absorbed into the body. Since CBD does not have any inherent taste, this won’t feel uncomfortable and should be fine for anyone.

Make a CBD Topical

CBD isolate can be mixed with skin oils and applied topically to sore muscles. It can also be used to ease inflammation or pain in joints and even to help suppress arthritis.

Make a CBD Edible

You can also use CBD into your cooking. For instance, you can combine it with a carrier oil and use it in baked goods or general recipes. However, keep in mind that heating CBD oil above 400 degrees will make it lose its benefits.

Make a CBD Infused Beverage

CBD can also be blended into smoothies or mixed into tea and coffee. This is a great way to get your daily dose of CBD into your morning coffee or afternoon tea.
